Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! I've blogged three times this week which I'd consider a win! My mom is coming to visit this weekend, so I'm looking forward to have an extra set of hands around the house to help wrangle a very active one year old!

We are planning on finally painting/decorating our guest bedroom, so be on the lookout for that on Instagram (@SarahTuckerUp). Other than house projects we plan on relaxing and enjoying this beautiful weather before it gets too hot!

Now for some Friday favorites!

1. This little (or big!) guy has been SO FUN lately. He is such a ham and definitely has his mom's love of talking. I always stack his blocks and he loves knocking them all over. He lets out the biggest giggle and it is the best sound ever.

2. I know I've been blowing up my blog with this tank, but they finally restocked the exact one I have, so go grab it while you can!

3. I bought this lash serum off Amazon. It used to be called something different a few years ago. I used it when it was that brand and it worked SO good. I'm on my second week of using this stuff and I can already tell a slight difference! I'd be totally lying if I said it doesn't cause some mild eye irritation, but I wear contacts and it isn't bad. If I feel like my eyes need a break, I just switch to every other day. I'll keep you posted!

4. I'm obsessed with this whole page and I want it all!

5. I ordered these cutout booties because they were on major sale! I know it isn't bootie season anymore, but I can't wait to wear them next fall!

Happy Friday!!

WIWW: Cactus + Link Up

Do you ever have those outfits that you know you're going to repeat over and over? This is mine. As long as I can wiggle into these jeans. #prebabyjeans

I wore this to church on Easter Sunday and, honestly, I felt a little too casual, but I couldn't stand the thought of blinding the congregation with my opaque legs in a dress. It's bad, y'all. To the point where I want zero sun exposure because I instantly feel like I might get third degree burns from .23 seconds of the sun beating down on me.

Every blogger has this cactus tee, or this one, and while I was at 'ol Tarjay the other day, I decided it was time to hop on that bandwagon because $14.99 ain't gonna kill nobody.

Also, these shoes feel like they've been worn in perfectly ever since the moment my foot slipped into them. How can one shoe can feel worn in without ever being worn? Mom clogs for lyfe (enter pound emoji).

Okay, clearly I'm losing my mind. I've included hashtags and fake emojis in this post, so I'm leaving it at that before I embarrass myself further. You're WELCOME.

Happy Wednesday, compadres! And, thanks for linking up! Honestly, I don't have much time to comment on blogs, but please know that my lunch time is always spent reading y'alls posts!!

Now for the link up!

- All I ask is you link back to my blog and link to a specific post.

- Write about something fashion related!

Weekend Wrap + A Cute Top

tank // vest // jeans // clogs

Happy Monday! I'm writing to you today from my cozy couch while I sip coffee and watch GMA.

Just kidding. I'm drinking cold coffee, catching glimpses of GMA, and chasing a very active one year old!

We got today off from school. Praise the Lord! This four day weekend has been glorious. It is giving me hope that I can make it to summer :)

We spent tons of time outside enjoying the mild temps before we start melting here pretty soon. Graham is obsessed with anything outside. He will happily play on the patio for an hour with no toys. He collects leaves and grass and plays in the dirt. He is all boy!

We went to Eater service Saturday night which meant we had all day Sunday to get. stuff. done. We did lots of yard work, Chris built a shed, Graham napped for 2+ hours, and I washed both dogs. We had such a productive day!

Today is the last day of my break and I've left my whole to-do list for today. Yay for procrastination.

Off to be semi-productive.

Have a great day!

Friday Confessions + Shopbop Sales Faves!

We've got a four day weekend and I wish you could see me jumping for joy! This time of year is so stressful for teachers. State testing, end of the year obligations, hormonal 5th graders, etc. This break is welcomed with open arms!

What I'm buying: I always love, love, love the Shopbop sale! I'm getting better at buying gifts year-around, so I do a lot of my Christmas shopping now. I also buy a few things for myself, but I try to stick to buying for others!

What I'm obsessing over: Has anyone ever seen Amazon's interesting finds page? I AM OBSESSED!

What I'm wearing: My favorite peplum tops are on sale for $9!! I have five of them and they are on repeat. They come in a long sleeve and tank version.

What I'm planning: My brother and his wife are moving in with us over the summer (temporarily), so I'm itching to get our guest room decorated! It has been the most neglected room in our house and it is about time it gets completed. I'm dying to paint a room navy, but also want more shiplap! Decisions, decisions!

What we are watching: Over the last few weeks of me working on my signs, Chris has had Designated Survivor on in the background. I dismissed it at first, but now I am HOOKED. It is so good and totally out of my normal reality-tv comfort zone.

What we are looking forward to: Summer! We are in the midst of planning some summer vacations and I am so excited! Summer will be so different this year because, hello, G will be keeping me on my toes! I see the pool and lots of splash pads in our future!

What we are doing this weekend: Celebrating Easter and Jesus!

Happy weekend!

WIWW: Baby Boutiques + Link Up

G wearing a Yellow Button Baby bib
G is Haven Gray's 'baby bear' onesie

In honor of my Etsy shop giveaway, I wanted to shout out my favorite baby boutiques!

- Olive and Gray: Ryan and Todd are an awesome couple who've created a brand that it darn near perfection. They've got the cutest clothes for both little boys and girls. Seriously, I wish some of the clothes came in my size.

- Haven Gray: Celeste is a blogger friend turned real life friend. She's a boy mom and has curated a brand tailored just to you boy moms! Her little men are so stylish and Celeste created Haven Gray to help boy moms find the perfect outfits for the little guys in their life!

- Yellow Button Baby: I've never met someone more committed to quality than Rebecca. She handpicks the best fabric for all her baby products and it shows in all her pieces. She has spoiled G with some adorable bibs! I should also add that I'm tempted to buy one of her baby blankets for myself because they are THE softest things ever!

Happy Wednesday!

Mom Things I Don't Do

You know, as a mom you always think you're not doing enough. But, the reality of my life is that I have a full time, very emotionally and physically draining, job teaching at a Title 1 school. My job leaves me exhausted each and every day. Then, I go home to a very active little guy whom I love so much my heart aches. All the while the dishes are not done, the laundry piles up, and the same day the cleaning lady comes the house looks like a disaster. I'm not complaining at all, but there are some things I've chosen not to do as a mom because they simply would not make my life any easier.

1. Make Graham's baby food. All props go out to the makers of baby food because I am your #1 supporter. Why would I ever make something that is already made for me? I don't have the time (even if it "only takes 10 minutes!") to mash up veggies. Thankfully G eats whatever we eat, but I'm 100% sure I'll never be the 'make your child's baby food' mom.

2. Buy my kid tons of clothes and shoes. Graham is a boy through and through and that shows at his very young age. The boy can find a mess in any situation! Why would I spend money on "adorable" outfits that he is just going to crush his peas on? Also, he is just not starting to get close to walking. I'm not going to shell out money for shoes when the boy can't walk. I was graciously given two pairs of Freshly Picked Moccs from The Baby Cubby. We LOVE  the FP Moccs and will be buying more when he is closer to walking, but I'm not buying him anymore just for the heck of it. Cute or not cute, money is money.

3. Watch any cartoons. The only cartoons G has seen have been when my dad puts them on his phone for Graham. Other than that, he has never seen a cartoon. Why? Because I'm not going to watch them until he demands them! Until then, he happily plays with his toys or we play outside while HGTV is on in the background. (My brother never watched cartoons and I'm praying G will be like that. He literally only watched sports...he'd even turn it on the ESPN History channel...weirdo.)

4. Baby my baby. I'll be the first to admit that I could soften up a bit. I was raised to "rub some dirt on it" and that's exactly how we are with G. We definitely do not rush to him anytime he starts crying. If he hurts himself, we are easily able to tell if he is really hurt, or just trying to get our attention.

5. Feed my kid the best foods possible. Seriously, this is just a pain to even think about feeding him all organic/no gmo/ blah blah blah. I'm sure there are arguments both ways, but Chris and I try to eat the best we can and G eats what we eat, so I'm sure he'll survive. The boy loves him some Blue Bell, so I think we have the dairy food group covered :)

What are some mom things you don't do??

5 Most Used Baby Items

Happy Monday! I feel like I am still recovering from my show this weekend, but I am excited for today's post! Not that I am a seasoned mom or anything, but I do feel like things have changed a lot in recent years as far as baby items. So, if you're in the market for baby gear, this post is for you!

Besides the obvious being bottles, food, and other essentials, here are our 5 most used (and favorite!) baby items from Graham's first year.

- OXO Tot Sprout Highchair: I've you've watch any of my insta-stories (@SarahTuckerUp), you've seen Graham in his highchair. He is the funnies eater and we LOVE this highchair. Originally I registered and received a traditional, most cushy highchair. After thinking more and more about it, I figured the cushions/chair would be easier to clean on the OXO Tot. I traded the chairs out and haven't looked back!

- Jumperoo: I finally got some freedom back once G started to play in this thing. It is our most used baby toy and totally a life saver once he outgrew his swing. I can stick him in this and know (or assume I should say) he won't go anywhere. He doesn't play in it as much, but it is a great place to stick him if I need to leave the room for a minute.

- Walker: Even though the song on this toy haunts me in my dreams, it is one of G's favorite and watching him walk around the house is adorable. There is a reason it is a best-seller!!

- Bob Stroller: (It is $70 off right now!!) Now, I am not a runner at all. It is torture to me, but we do love getting out of family walks. I thought I wouldn't want/need a jogging stroller, but once I got one, there was no turning back. It is so much easier to maneuver over bumps in the road and G loves it! We use our Bob almost everyday. I keep our other stroller in the car for when we are out and about.

- Sound Machine: I am pretty sure we will forever need the sound of the ocean to sleep. Graham has slept with this sound since he was born and I'm convinced it is the best invention ever.

WIWW: Graham's Style + Link Up

duh romper // $5.99 on amazon
bandana bib // copper pearl
moccs // freshly picked

This little guy of ours has been so fun to dress lately! He is over the stage where we have to change him into three outfits a day because of spit up, so I've been able to put on some of my favorite outfits I bought him when we was so tiny and I would deliriously shop in the wee hours of the morning while feeding him.

This romper on Amazon was only $5.99. I had very low expectations and was so shocked when it came in and was actually really great quality and the material is so soft!

I'm also obsessed with these bandana bibs. They are so cute and add a little spunk to G's outfits!

What are your favorite baby clothes??

Happy Wednesday!

A Celebration Vacation to Toronto

Some people go all out and spend hundreds, if not thousands, on their child's first birthday. Us? We decided to take that money and go on vacation! Graham won't ever remember, and we deserved a kid-free vacation.

Chris actually had a work conference in Toronto, so I decided to tag along for a few days so we could make a vacation out of it. I've never been to Canada and had an image in my head that ended up being so far off from the reality of Toronto.

For one, Toronto is a melting pot. I've been to New York City three times and that is nothing compared to how diverse Toronto is. We were shocked to only meet a handful of people who were actually Canadian.

Other things we noticed was the amount of smokers, the lack of ice cream shops, and how delicious their water is. Dallas has the worst water. Canadian water is good. But, they give you three tiny ice cubes, which was weird at first, but their water is so cold that it didn't matter. I couldn't imagine drinking water in Texas from a restaurant without ice. No. thank. you.

We ventured out of our comfort zone and had authentic Ramen one night. Chris is not what I'd consider an adventurous eater, but I convinced him to try Ramen with me and he totally loved it! We also ate Italian one night and I had the best mozzarella cheese I've ever had in my life. Seriously, I should have brought some back with me because my mouth is watering now.

For this trip we didn't have much of an itinerary. We wanted it to be relaxing and go with the flow. The only thing I really wanted to do was see Niagara Falls. Other than that, we just wandered.

Saturday we went up the CN Tower. I believe it is 1,122 feet in the air and there is a glass floor. I literally almost fainted when Chris made me walk across it with him. I feel woozy just thinking about it now! After that we just wandered around the Eaton Center and the surrounding area. It was a fun a relaxed day.

Sunday we wanted to go to Niagara! We had some trouble renting a car. We reserved one online, but when we got to the place they had ZERO cars available, even though I made the reservation well in advance. Ironically, though, it turned into a fun situation where we met a guy from Scotland who lived in Toronto. He was in the same situation as us and he ended up being our mini tour guide of downtown as we searched for the other rental car places. Hearing his story and learning about his life was fascinating!

We finally got a car (a Nissan Note, which was quite comical seeing Chris drive since he is so used to his very Texas sized truck) and drove the 1.5 hours to Niagara. It lived up to every expectation and I can't wait to bring G (and all our other future babies!) back someday!

Monday we ordered room service for breakfast and I caught a cab back to the airport.

Now I'm ready to tackle the week ahead! Just kidding...bring me back to vacation, but this time with our G baby!

Happy Tuesday!

Graham Turns ONE!!!

On Saturday, April 1st, our Graham baby turned ONE! If you follow me on instagram (@SarahTuckerUp) you know that Chris and I jetted off to Toronto to celebrate one year of parenthood. Call me crazy, but we all know 1st birthday parties are for the parents and I want no part of that :) So that I didn't feel like a total slacker parent, I baked G a box cake, slapped some icing on it, and forced him to take some pictures all while the poor little guy had a fever. He was a trooper and I will forever cherish these pictures.

Also, can we note how I have a strawberry blonde child? I would have never imagined our kid would look like him, but we are SMITTEN.

Happy birthday, G! Words can't describe how happy you make us!!
